What is the 5b00 error?

    This error code indicates that the ink absorber pads are "full". While it may be true that it is full and people would attempt to clean this, this will not solve the issue. Unfortunately, some models, including MG3070s, does not have the reset feature even on the service mode which also includes the use of the Canon Service Tool.

How to repair the 5b00 error?

    In order to repair this issue, you need the flash the two bin dumps provided on the link below. There includes two files namely:
                    
                    1. TOP_25Q16J.bin
                    2. BOTTOM_25Q64J.bin

They are labeled according to the placement of the rom on the board of the printer. Simply, flash this accordingly using a Flash programmer such as the cheap CH341A Mini Programmer.

    Once flashed, that's it! Problem Solved. Enjoy your printer once more.
